In summer 2025, UvA and E-WERK collaborated to turn Luckenwalde into a research laboratory and festival ground where students, artists, and citizens co-created new ways of seeing, narrating, and practising energy transition. There were two main interventions:
- Energy Literacy for Just Transition Summer School: a ten-day interdisciplinary workshop at E-WERK, bringing together 10-15 students to learn how energy infrastructures are built and function, and how to make heritage and transition processes visible to varied stakeholders through a pop-up exhibition.
- Stadtbad Live! Summerfest: A participatory programme inviting citizens, local artists and other cultural practitioners to propose their own intervention at the Stadtbad as a way to democratise the curatorial process and spotlight diverse and inclusive interpretations and representations of energy
This report documents the process of making these interventions and their impact.
