Cataloging collections

An important aspect of this project is encouraging cultural heritage institutions to seriously consider the simultaneous rise of petrocultures and heritage cultures and their inter-relationships through their own collections. To pilot how this might be done, Lusto, Finland’s national forest museum with one of the largest dedicated forestry-specific collections in the world, is investigating the forest as a petroculture space through their collection. Through work in the archives and collections of Lusto, the project is identifying narratives and artefacts that could visible the integration of forest heritage and petrocultures. This research will form a baseline from which to develop the subsequent pilot intervention in WP2.

To this end, Lusto has created a catalog which will be updated as the project progresses of the relationship between their collection items and petrocultures.
